13 years ago this week, I met Ammon right here, in this exact spot. He was a canoe guide and I was working for @tetonwhitewater in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I was walking out of the bathroom in a bright pink shirt and lime green fluorescent jacket as he was walking towards the bathroom in hiking boots, a flat brimmed hat, a brown stubby beard and dressed in neutral browns and greens.

I was walking super fast and almost bumped right into him, it startled both of us. He said something funny, I laughed and our quick introduction was awkward and silly and unforgettable. We both remember that moment vividly.

He went on toward the bathroom as I continued down that little wooden path. That moment was historical for me, something deep inside my heart lit up. Little did I know that the spark that happened that day was the beginning of a lifetime of love and happiness.

I had no idea that the man I met right in this spot was going to be my very best friend, the father to my children, my biggest cheerleader, my life partner and most giving, loving, incredibly patient husband.

I get emotional writing this because Ammon is my soul mate. We were meant to be together. We have completely different skills and talents that compliment each other perfectly and although it’s not perfect, it’s pretty dang close.

The first and second pictures are a few years apart in that special spot.
The next photo is the first picture we ever took together later that summer of 2009, we weren’t even dating then.
The last picture is the summer of 2010, we were newly weds! We got married in March 2010, only 7 months after we stared dating and 9 months after meeting! ❤️
